How can I find a software job working from home?

I am a software developer and would like to work from home such that I
could live in different parts of the country or world while still
working. Is this possible? I could either work as a contractor or
for a company that would allow this. Any ideas?

I've seen some really fun and interesting proejcts on guru.com, but haven't
had the chance to make an actual bid for the projects yet.
