This Intern opportunity will give you hands on experience working on a variety of projects which could include Civil/ Site development, Structural Bridge Design, Traffic Engineering, and Road and Highway design, however most likely Bridge Engineering and Drafting work will be performed. Through your internship experience, you will be able to have a direct impact on our nation’s transportation infrastructure and will be working with many of the most talented design engineers, planners, scientists, architects, and construction engineers in the United States. As an intern your days can be spent utilizing state of the art design software, or planning and designing projects while learning from senior transportation experts. All applicants must be working on a BA or BS in Civil Engineering from a 4 year accredited college.
This position would include developing sketches, layouts, and drawings prepared by others using CADD applications. Will learn proficiency in operation of computer-aided drafting and design input station. Engineering tasks could range from quantity calculations, construction cost estimating, ad bridge substructure and/or superstructure as well as retaining wall design. Assignments of increasing difficulty will be submitted as proficiency is increased. Understand and follow the company's standard CADD procedures for levels, line styles, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout. Knowledge of Windows/server environment. You may work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
