Snr C++ Networking Eng S/W

This senior engineer will develop leading edge software to accelerate the
performance of networked applications. Project work will include
development of new features to enhance the ability to dynamically adapt to
changing traffic patterns and to automatically tune performance in
real-time. The emphasis is on high performance and throughput in
latency-sensitive environments. There will be an opportunity to contribute
to software architecture for our next generation product and to do systems
work to integrate the compression module into new hardware/software
platforms.



You will be responsible for the Design and Development of new IP tunneling
and compression-related features, and for ensuring that you deliver high
quality code that is tuned to real-world environments and that will stand up
under widespread field use. You must be able to understand the customer's
needs and environment, and deliver software that solves real problems and is
easy to use effectively. You will need a solid understanding of network
performance and must have advanced technical problem-solving skills.



You must be a self-starter, and be able to drive your own project work
forward to timely completion. This is a challenging position in a
fast-paced environment.



Experience:

8-10 years C/C++ development

Experience leading small development teams or leading software projects is a
significant advantage

A record of building, shipping & supporting commercially successful network
products

Solid understanding of application based network performance

Direct experience developing products in at least one of the following areas
is required: compression, TCP optimization, protocol implementation.

Experience developing products in any of the following areas is an asset:
any RTOS (esp. PSOS, VxWorks), device drivers, kernel level code,
encryption, Linux, IP routing, QoS, L3/L4 network products, multi-processor
software architecture, mixed processor environments.

Experience with OO design and with using design patterns is required
