Job Description:Top notch Cognos developer is needed for a long termengagement. This position will be responsible for architecting the Business
Intelligence platform as well as developing a wide variety of analytical reports using Cognos business intelligence tools (Series 7: ReportNet,
PowerPlay, Transformer, Framework Manager, Decision Stream; Series 8: Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, Metric Studio, Data Manager). This
individual will work with clients, business analysts, and other project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance applications,
scripts, procedures, and metadata for relational and dimensional databases.
. Creating compelling reports with charts and graphs in either Report Studio
and Analysis Studio in Cognos Series 8 or Report Net and Power Play in Cognos Series 7.
. Assist in the development of the metadata layer in Framework Manager in conjunction with the logical and physical data models.
. Integrate content rendered by Cognos with proprietary portal, application
framework, and security. Exploit advanced tool capabilities as appropriate, including multi-level groups, multi-section tabular and matrix layouts, advanced prompting and parameterization, and charting features.
. Upgrade Cognos Series 7 reports to Cognos Series 8.
. Create complex SQL queries in SQL Server 2000 / 2005 and Oracle 9i / 10G
Required Skills:. Four (4) or more years of experience using Cognos tool suite
. Two (2) or more years using SQL Server and Oracle
. Ability to work with business users on requirements, develop appropriate specifications and build reporting objects.Minimum Years of experience
