MUST HAVES:



1. Demonstrated experience in HPLC (reverse phase, ion exchange, gel
permeation) using various detection modes (UV, fluorescence, MALLS)
is required.

2. Knowledge of chemical and enzymatic treatments of proteins,
carbohydrates and glycoconjugates or glycoprotein stability a
definite plus. Experience in mass spectrometry of biomolecules is
desirable.



Job Function:



The position focuses on applied research in analytical biotechnology
related to the development and support of new and existing
biopharmaceutical products. The Research Associate is responsible for
conducting experiments outlined by the senior staff in close
coordination with the other project activities. Results obtained from
qualitative and quantitative analyses of biologics are used for long-
term analytical support and troubleshooting of manufacturing issues.
The candidate is expected to reach and report sound technical
conclusions on experiments related to protein and biopolymer
composition and structure.



Experience:

Design and planning of experiments

Authoring or co-authoring of study reports

Responsibilities in laboratory and instrumentation
maintenance

Method and instrument validation

Writing and ownership of Standard Operating Procedures

Broadening of hands-on knowledge to other analytical
techniques

Contribution to publications and scientific communications
as research programs allow

Skills:



The highly motivated candidate is expected to have excellent oral
and written communication skills and computer knowledge and a strong
commitment to teamwork. Problem solving ability is a must. Adherence
to GDP/GLP requirements is mandatory in all research data collection
and reporting activities. A safety conscious individual able to work
with hazardous chemicals and biohazardous materials is required.



Responsibilities:

Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of
biologicals and biologically related materials.

Interpret basic analytical data and report results related
to routine research studies for the development and support of new
and existing products.

Contribute to the development and validation of new
analytical methodologies.

Participate in general troubleshooting and instrumentation
maintenance for HPLC systems.

Understand and fully comply with current GDP/GLP.



Education:



A Bachelor of Science degree with at least a minimum educational
knowledge of analytical chemistry. Non- education experience is
preferred. Biology and biochemistry background will be considered as
well. Demonstrated experience in HPLC (reverse phase, ion exchange,
gel permeation) using various detection modes (UV, fluorescence,
MALLS) is required.

glycoproteins or lab rats who can develop the lab test deal with
lab techonology troubleshooting
