Rational Functional Tester Automation Specialist

Location: Calgary
Duration: 1 year

Responsibilities will include:
• Based on requirements elicited from the project teams, design and implement a data driven test automation framework using the Rational Functional Tester (RFT) tool. Some of the considerations in the choice of design approach should include:
o Ease of maintenance
o Ease of extension and contraction
o Ease of use
• Work with the Corporate Test Lead in evolving the corporate test automation strategy.
• Ensure the test automation effort is aligned with the expectations set out in the Corporate Test Automation strategy and Quality Bar.
• Develop and socialize usage guidelines for the test automation framework.
• Continually measure and assess the effectiveness of the test automation effort.
• Provide weekly reports to the Corporate Test Lead on the progress of test automation relative to the programs mentioned above.
• Time permitting, assist project teams with the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of automated tests using tools such as WatiN, MS Web Test, MS White, and Ruby
