C++ Programmer

Pointe Technology Group is currently looking for a senior software engineer to support an international company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defense and aerospace systems. An experienced and capable software engineer is required for support of the U.S. Navy in the development of Mine Warfare Analysis Simulation Systems. The software engineer will extract system requirements, perform software design, and implement software systems based on legacy mine warfare analytical models that determine ship vulnerability and countermeasure system effectiveness.
The software engineer should have broad experience in object-oriented analysis and design and have experience with the Universal Modeling Language (UML) methodologies. The Candidate should also have experience in implementing object-oriented concepts using the C++ programming language.
This software candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of software activities related to this project, including software requirements definition, software architecture definition, object-oriented design, coding and testing, systems integration, and deployment. The software engineer will define configuration management procedures and will establish software development processes.

The candidate's duties will include the translation of software requirements into object-oriented models, participation in informal peer reviews and formal design reviews of software designs, and the implementation of the designs into C++ objects and methods. Additional duties will also include the unit testing, developmental testing, and operational testing of software, the writing of user documentation and procedures, the development of training tools and documents, and the deploying of the software in its fielded environment.

Must have the following:
*MS + 4 years experience
*BS + 6 years experience
*ASSOC + 8 years experience
*HS + 10 years experience
*Active DoD security clearance
*6+ years of software development experience.
*Significant experience in writing programs using the C++ programming language.
*Demonstrated understanding of Object Oriented Design principles and methodologies.
*Experience with the Universal Modeling Language (UML).
*Good oral & written communications skills as required for customer interface.


Prefer the following:
*BS or better degree in technology field.
*8+ years of software development experience.
*Experience with Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) and software support tools such as version control tools and UML modeling tools.
*Proven record of delivering software projects on time and on budget.
*Experience with the Java Programming Language.
*Experience with simulation systems development, including an understanding of simulation concepts such as time management and simulation interoperability.
*Experience with Naval Mine Warfare Analysis.
*No relocation expenses paid for
