following:

Position: Principal Engineer/Sr. Principal Engineer



You will help define and drive the design of platforms, applications
and tools to power the next generation experience for Yahoo consumers.
Aspects of technology you will



work with include XML, RDF, Web Services, OOAD, Database Design, API
design, Performance Engineering, Security, Extreme Scalability,
Processing Framew! orks, Rich



Media, Scalable distribution, etc. Your job will entail guiding &
mentoring a development team with sound design, and working with leads
& architects across geographies to



insure interoperability and maximize reuse. You will be expected to
take a hands-on approach. A key success factor will be the ability to
produce or consume platforms with



widespread reuse and impact.


10+ years experience, at least 5+ with Large Scale architectures




Strong hands-on experience with Web technologies, Web standards &
protocols, Languages (some of C / C++ / Java / Perl / Python / Ruby /
PHP),



Methodologies (OOD)




Experience in Production Web systems characterized by high-end
performance, reliability, availability, scalability, security
Computing / Web Services



Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills



Strong Technical leadership qualities



Contributions in external forums (conferences, publications, blogs,
open source) a plus
