Job description: Work on client projects that involve establishing processes to support life insurance client operations including: * prepare financial reports (GAAP and Statutory) * preparation of annual/quarterly statements * interface with third party servicers * assist clients in establishing and monitoring budgets * perform analysis and prepare reports for client management * develop processes to support on-going reporting and compliance functions * conduct interviews and document processes for operations * review existing operations and identify operating inefficiencies * identify control weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement * SEC reporting experience is a major plus but not mandatory Requirements Experience: * 3 - 7 years professional experience * Knowledge of the life insurance industry * Accounting background - can be with a public accounting firm or industry * Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles * Experience preparing the Annual Statement (Blue Book) * Investment accounting experience (Schedule D) * Microsoft office applications (strong Excel) Skills: * Organized * Self-starter * Ability to perform accounting research * Ability to develop processes based upon defined objectives * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written * Authorization is required to work in theUS; SMART will not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
