This position may be based out of our downtown World Financial Center office in New York City or out Stamford, Connecticut office, and reports to the Regional Tax Resource Manager.a The expectation is that this individual would travel as necessary throughout the NorthEast region, among seven offices between Philadelphia, PA and Boston, Ma. a a a Responsibilities: - Assign engagement teams, ensuring teams have balanced competencies and individuals have growth opportunities - Collaborate with lead partners and senior managers to take advantage of project opportunities, provide alternatives to assignment conflicts, and negotiate timing and delivery of work - Maintain client assignment database to ensure information is accurate and current - Analyze and report on utilization and headcount in order to forecast recruiting needs - Administer reporting of utilization and other required information to partner and management group - Counsel individuals on career development issues; provide feedback to management on staff performance and objectives; - Team with other functions and offices to maximize cross-utilization of staff - Examine utilization on a weekly basis; identify deficits and strategize with lead partners to implement solutions, and identify excessive hours and work with leaders to leverage workloads - Reassign client base after promotion or turnover, while aligning client base with individuals career goals and interest - Supervise service line rotational programs, including colleagues overseas - Enforce and support all assignment, career development, utilization, and counseling responsibilities with colleagues within the group whose home office is overseas - Attend meetings with management group to address deployment and utilization issues - Coordinate and manage Tax New Hire/Intern orientation and local training - Train new hires on tax department operations, procedures, and resources - Assist the Human Resources team with performance evaluation and compensation processes - In addition to client service projects, track/monitor individuals time off, holiday, and training, in the client assignment database - Provide leadership with recurring updates regarding personnel changes - Support the Tax Group Leader, Regional Resource Manager and Human Resource Leader on other projects as necessary Experience and Skills: - BA/BS degree preferred - Three plus years relevant job experience required - Analytical ability a must.a Accounting/Tax background a plus a Candidate must possess the following: a .aaaaaaa Ability to negotiate and interact with all levels and functions .aaaaaaa Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously .aaaaaaa Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills .aaaaaaa Self-motivated and highly productive, adaptable to change and busy periods a Deloitte LLP is an equal opportunity Firm.
