Lehman Brothers Back End Server Side Sr. Web Developer: CMS Lehman Brothers is building a world class team of designers, developers, and interaction specialists, all with a dedication to beautiful, highly-functional design. We are currently seeking a motivated, hands-on Sr. Web Developer to round out our team. Our ideal candidate will be well versed in Content Management Systems and will work with us on the redesign and rearchitecting of Lehman.com, as well as two other major site revamps. S/he will create the underlying database structure for our CMS and be responsible for developing other app code as necessitated by design and functionality needs. Potential projects include creating forms using AJAX to automatically populate fields, creating dynamic navigation with Javascript or FlashFlex, and developing scripts to expire content on the web. Reports to:VP, Digital Operations Division:Communications, Marketing, & Brand Strategy Area:Marketing & Branding Responsibilities: Solution Development and Delivery - Assists in the coding and testing of technical solutions. - Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients. - Creates design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content using proprietary software. - Demonstrates attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving. - Able to work in a team and to communicate in a clear way. Project Execution - Adheres to coding standards defined by technical management. - Accurately employs our development tools in our Content Management System. - Establishes responsible deadlines and personal work plans and meets challenging goals well and within a quick timeframe. Requirements: Education and experience - Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. - Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant professional experience. - Web portfolio presentation required. Communication - Listens to others and accepts input from team members. - Clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally. - Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional. Technical - Possesses expert knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS (table-less design) - Very strong working experience with Javascript, Perl, and PHR - Fluent in class-based object-oriented JavaScript. - Experience developing and running on Linux. - Previous experience programming for a Content Management System such as Interwoven, IBM, or Vignette. - Financial services work experience a plus. - Exhibits proficiency in HomeSite, HTML, DHTML, CSS and MS Office applications. - Experience with Python and Ruby desired. - Understanding of the JavaScript asynchronous model. - Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing and issue troubleshooting (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.) - Working knowledge of database design using DB2 and SQL. - Knowledge of creating basic images with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. - Experience with Ajax and third Party APIs. - Multimedia integration (SWF, AVI, MPG) - Previous experience in managing and configuring web servers a plus. - Experience writing good documentation for code s/he has written is a plus Architecture - Demonstrates basic working knowledge of object and component methodology and technology. - Possesses basic working knowledge of classes, components, objects, and interfaces. - Recognizes the fundamental differences between the various internet browsers. Additional Experience: - Advanced experience working in dynamic programming languages a plus. - Experience working on a Mac platform also a plus. - Experience working in financial services is a plus.
