The Architect is responsible for the conceptual integrity of the system software at the architecture, design and implementation level. They design the overall architecture, select the appropriate tools and products to facilitate the implementation of the architecture, review the design to ensure that it is aligned with the architecture, and acts as a mentor for other technical team members. This person will participate across various engagements within the practice to ensure that we deliver highly scalable, available and high performing platforms. The person will also be engaged in architecture strategy engagements including future state technology road mapping, SOA assessment and Enterprise Architecture and Governance. The person should have strong leadership capabilities with the ability to grow and mentor a team of technical resources. Key responsibilities include: Responsibilities . In conjunction with the Project Manager, develop an initial project work plan and ensure that it is adjusted as necessary throughout the project implementation . In conjunction with the other Architects, identify the overall enterprise architecture, analyze capacity requirements, specify tools, technologies and platforms needed to be used to deliver systems. . Have a strong understanding of architectural concepts like SOA, BPM, Rules, Component based architectures, etc. . Have hands on experience architecting and deploying large scale systems . Play a leadership role within the practice by growing and mentoring a team under him that helps sell and deliver systems. . Mentors the development of detailed specifications including; design diagrams, requirements analysis, system integration plans, operations plans, and rollout plans. . Business development support. . Conduct architecture/design reviews to ensure overall quality of the project Qualifications . Strong understanding and expertise in technologies like J2EE, .NET, XML etc. . Good knowledge of the software development life cycle . Understanding of code manipulation and optimization issues . Experience in different architectural platforms and how they effect development and operation of a system . Experience with architecting enterprise integration solutions using tools like MQ, Tibco, WebMethods etc. . Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. . Ability to work in a collaborative team environment . Ability to teach and mentor other colleagues, and grow the architecture community. . Knowledge in the Financial Services space is highly desirable. . Knowledge of packages in the Financial Services space is highly desirable. Experience At least 8-10+ years experience in the industry Candidates must have the ability to accommodate a Monday-Thursday travel schedule
