Description: !*!Provides general technical, greenhouse and farm support for a breeding program aimed at developing sorghum as a biofuel feedstock. General duties include, but may not be limited to: providing technical support for analyzing composition traits of sorghum lines using Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) or related technologies; providing technical support for DNA sequencing and genotyping laboratory; greenhouse propagation and limited regeneration of various sorghum breeding lines; providing support for field program including planting, collecting phenotypic data, performing crosses, harvesting and processing field material for subsequent chemical analyses.!*! Formal training beyond HS of 1-2 years, 2 years of college coursework, or Associates with 6 months-1 year experience or equivalent combination.Basic knowledge of computers including use of word processing and spreadsheet programs.%0A %0A Prefer at least one year of experience in chemical, biological or related field laboratory. Greenhouse and/or on farm work experience is also desirable. Familiarity with farm and analytical equipment used for measuring forage quality traits (i.e., NIRS).
