EOE D/M/F/V Ithaco Space Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goodrich Corporation, is a leading manufacturer and supplier of satellite attitude control system components including Reaction Wheel Assemblies, Electromagnetic Torquer Bars and Earth Sensor Assemblies and Commercial Pyroelectric detectors. Seeking a detail oriented, highly motivated, QC mechanical inspector for a temporary assignment. Job Description: 1. Inspects a variety of complex electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, and precision mechanical parts for workmanship and conformance to specifications, schematics and blueprints. 2. Records results of inspection on the appropriate records. 3. This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, handle product and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit for extended periods (1 hour). Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Job Skills (minimum requirements): 1. Experience using precision measuring equipment (vernier scales, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.), visual inspection techniques, basic shop math, geometry and trigonometry. 2. Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, military and industrial specifications and standards. 3. Proficient at verbal and written technical communication, and able to work from written or verbal instructions. 4. Knowledge of, and familiarity with, alternative inspection methodologies. 5. Experience operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)a plus. 6. Working Knowledge of GD&T. 7. Proficient in MS Office software. Personal and Professional Characteristics: 1. Teamwork - Considers the impact of his/her actions within the team. Actively seeks collaboration with internal and external team members. 2. Punctual and reliable 3. Self-starter - Works with minimal supervision. 4. Quick Learner - Learn new inspection equipment and techniques. 5. Demonstrates professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, customers and vendors. 6. Problem Solving - Use problem solving skills to complete inspection analysis. Looks beyond the obvious and doesnt stop at the first answers. Can see hidden problems and is excellent at honest analysis. 7. Perform duties with a Safety First Attitude. Two plus years of related industry experience (formal QA/QC training considered). Experience with ISO/AS9100 is a plus.
