Description: !*! Applications are invited for the position of HOSPITAL DIRECTOR for the Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) in Ithaca, New York. CUHA provides leadership in patient care, education, clinical investigation and scientific innovation in veterinary medicine and is staffed with over 70 faculty, 55 interns and residents, and approximately 170 non-academic support personnel. With an annual case load of 19,000 inpatients, approximately 40,000 outpatients, and an annual budget of %2414 million, CUHA is one of the largest and most highly visible units in Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine. %0A %0A The Hospital Director is the principal administrator of CUHA, providing leadership for all aspects of its operation, including patient care, medical records, pharmacy and materials management, technical services, client relations, personnel management and budget. In addition, the Director is expected to develop and implement, in cooperation with the College administration and faculty, strategic goals for continuously strengthening hospital and related college activities. The Hospital Director reports to the Dean of the College and represents CUHA before accrediting bodies, as well as referring veterinarians and the public. Depending on qualifications, the Hospital Director may hold a faculty appointment in one of the college's departments. %0A!*! Qualifications: A Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) is highly preferred. MBA or other business training is desired, but not required.
