This is a two year term appointment.%0A %0A Overview %0AThe Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) Vendor Applications Team provides backline technical support for a wide variety of centrally maintained University applications; including a time keeping system, course management system, telecommunications system, and a customer relationship management/incident tracking system. The users of these systems include almost the entire campus (faculty, staff, students). %0A %0A Job Description%0A As a member of Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) Information Systems (IS) Vendor Applications team, this person will assist in the investigation, installation, configuration, upgrades, integration, testing, and support of vendor and open source provided course management software applications such as Blackboard and Moodle. Experience and knowledge is required with the technical components and specifically, Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, and Unix (Solaris and/or Linux) as well as Course Management Software. %0A %0A Activities include project planning support, requirements gathering support, written and verbal communications with product owners and help desk and other technologists, research, planning and execution of patches and upgrades, test planning, coordination and execution, problem investigation and resolution. Proactive and responsive customer service orientation required, along with ability to work with vendors to solve problems in "blackbox" systems. Outstanding customer service references are essential.%0A %0A Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven, matrix organization. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work well with team members and assume individual responsibilities within a team. Must have strong documentation skills, being able to clearly and concisely explain complex technical issues.
