Territory consists of teaching hospitals and major community hospitals. The Sales Professional will be charged with maintaining already established sales volume and will be assigned increased volume through demand creation activity in the assigned accounts with key customers. Key customers include staff, fellows and residents in Endocrinology, Cardiology, General Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Surgery and other identified departments. It will be necessary to develop and implement an effective business plan, utilize effective selling techniques, problem-solving skills and exceptional networking and rapport building skills. Teamwork with Primary Care Sales Professionals and office based specialty sales professionals, via shared speakers and educational program development, and market area plan execution targeted at local, regional and national markets, can be expected. Candidates must complete all fleet safety training and must maintain an acceptable driving record regarding accidents and incidents. *Territory will cover Brooklyn West* Requirements : Education and Training Requirements: . BA/BS from an accredited school required. Focus in business or life science preferred. . Minimum three years of Pharmaceutical Sales Experience preferably with 2 years diabetes experience/insulin products, OR . Two years of relevant specialty experience as an RN, PharmD, Physical Therapist or Certified Diabetes Educator (Clinical Research Associate does not qualify). Examples of "relevant specialty experience" are: a Registered Nurse with a four year degree and two years experience in the specialty of the sales team, OR a PharmD with two years experience as a pharmacist, OR a Physical Therapist with a Masters Degree and two years of experience working with patients in one of the following areas, orthopedics, osteoporosis, arthritis or diabetes, OR a Certified Diabetes Educator with two years experience counseling diabetes patients. Specialty experience preferred. . Candidates should be able to acquire, apply and articulate comprehensive knowledge of the Disease State and science of sanofi-aventis products . Candidates should possess a strong business acumen including knowledge of reimbursement and managed care procedures. . A proven sales track record and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills is required. . Driving a company car in a safe manner to daily meetings and appointments is required
