* Refer a friend to this job More information about this job: Job Summary: The Compliance Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and analytical functions associated with defined contribution plans. The position is mostly back office with some internal and external client interaction. A hire may be made at a higher or lower level based upon the experience of the candidate. At a lower level the work of the Compliance Coordinator would be reviewed by the Compliance Specialist. In addition, there would be more plans with less complexity at a lower level versus fewer plans with more complexity at a higher level.

Responsibilities & Qualifications: Primary Responsibilities * Complete non-discrimination testing on plan participants. * Review retirement plans for IRS compliance. * Prepare IRS Form 5500. * Consult with clients on plan document interpretations and amendments. * Work closely with various GWL departments and relationship managers and directly assist clients with basic and routine technical problems/issues. Background and Qualifications * Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of degree. * Knowledge of non-discrimination testing, IRS Form 5500, and overall retirement industry knowledge preferred. * Client service oriented. * Demonstrated communication and presentation skills. * Demonstrated problem solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities. * Experience with ASC testing software and Relius preferred.
