Description Johnson & Johnson Information Technology Services, a member of Johnson & Johnsons Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Technology Manager — Global SQL Server Engineer, located in Raritan, NJ. The Technology Manager — Global SQL Server Engineer will provide SQL Server Database Technology leadership and manage the technical aspects of designing and engineering related infrastructure and services that can be leveraged across Johnson & Johnson worldwide. This position will have a strong relationship with the ITS Technology Engineering & Development, Global Service Transition, and Global Operations organizations to propose, build, and deliver solutions. Responsible for senior-level planning, designing and building of SQL Server RDBMS environments that can be leveraged across Johnson & Johnson globally. Serve as a lead for initiatives related to subject area expertise, providing necessary and relevant project deliverables, status updates, and related communications to the project manager and project team members. Plan and execute technical tasks to build shared enterprise infrastructure solutions and services that are cost-effective, scalable, highly available, reliable, manageable, and in accordance with IT, SOX, and regulatory policies and procedures. This includes standardized procedures for backup/recovery, performance and utilization monitoring, and pro-active incident prevention. Develop repeatable installation checklists and appropriate Maintain close partnership with the Technology Engineering & Development organization (TED) to collaborate in the continual evaluation, testing, and exploitation of new and emerging technology trends, products, and platforms. Define and promote global technology roadmaps, best practices and methodologies, and setting standards in these areas. Define product lifecycle management, including release management, upgrade and patch strategies, and retirement plans, with an emphasis on labor efficiency, resource leveraging, and TCO. Establish global deployment standards and configurations. Partner with and provide implementation support to the Global Database Service Transition and Operations groups. Perform financial analysis to calculate costs of deployed services and technologies and assist in creation of Capital Appropriation Requests. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members. Provide input to performance evaluation and development planning for junior team members.

Qualifications Qualified applicants must possess a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Relevant professional certification is a plus. A minimum of 8 years Information Technology experience is required with a solid background in service implementation and delivery. 5 or more years Database Administration experience within a large-scale, global organization is required. Experience managing current releases of SQL Server RDBMS required. Experience managing SQL Server RDBMS on enterprise server platforms preferred. Leadership experience in Information Technology within a large-scale, global organization is preferred. Experience with software installation and configuration is required. Knowledge of computing environment ancillary tools, such as those used for administration, configuration, job scheduling, monitoring, utilization and capacity planning, auditing, and security, and the ability to integrate these tools into a shared RDBMS infrastructure, is preferred. Must be able to perform in-depth systems analysis, recognize problems, opportunities or underlying patterns and relationships. The ability to analyze requirements and translate them into priorities and action plans is required. Experience in Information Technology infrastructure strategic planning within a development and production environment is preferred. Must be able to routinely apply broad knowledge of systems engineering processes and procedures to the completion of complex assignments. Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and function in a fast-paced work environment is required. Experience managing large projects across multiple organizations is preferred.
