Description: Position Title Clinical Database Developer Business Division Research Institute Country U.S.A. Location NJ Kenilworth Job Description Design, modify, and document clinical databases and their supporting systems for the support of clinical trials. Provide technical expertise in the design and development of protocols, case record forms, and other methods of capturing and transferring data in support of clinical research. Primary customers are Global Clinical Data Management and Clinical Research. Responsibility as a clinical database developer assigned to a protocol that all database design and maintenance activities follow SOPs, procedures, and guidelines. Negotiate with service requesters to insure the highest quality database which utilizes standards set by group and department while completing assigned tasks within time frame specified. Design, build, maintain, test, and document clinical databases based on written specifications establish by Global Clinical Data Management and Clinical Research. Discrepancy checks/rules are developed utilizing written specifications and standardized libraries when possible. Databases can take the form of EDC Systems, CDMS, Data Transfer Files, and other methods.

Perform ongoing support for clinical databases and systems. Change Requests and Incident Reports are fully documented, signed off, tracked, and reported to upper management. Participate in process improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and special projects. Minimal education required for this job Bachelors Degree -- Any Skills Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent educational exposure to software design and development theory, techniques, testing methodologies, and software documentation. At least 2 years to 4 years experience as a clinical database developer utilizing Clintrial and/or Inform. At least 2 to 3 years experience with Oracle databases and SQL. Solid knowledge of MS Windows and exposure to web based applications. Expected to have a strong technical proficiency in a Clinical Data Management Systerm. Particularly in Clintrial/Oracle, Inform, and SQL-PL/SQL. Level of proficiency: Inform - Architect, PF export, rules, special formatting Clintrial - All modules including coding cross panel discrepancies Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with different functional areas. Strong sense of urgency and customer focus. Desire and ability to learn new processes and technologies Ability to multi-task, work independently, and good communication skills Understanding of drug discovery process, FDA regulations, GxP guidelines, ICH guidelines, clinical database cleaning process, and 21 CFR Part 11.
