Description: Northrop Grumman is seeking a systems engineer to provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of communication systems, including, but not limited to SATCOM applications in the battlefield, data communication networks, and wide area networks infrastructure support. Participates in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Conduct test and evaluation of IP equipment in a SATCOM lab environment. Perform Troubleshooting of anomalies, network errors, and system alarms associated with IP equipment. PM support of IP related projects, and research and development of IP related SATCOM programs and SQL server applications are also required.

Job Qualifications: Applicant must have hands-on experience with IP equipment and networks over satellite communications via TDMA modems. Individual should be skilled in conducting tests and evaluation with IP related hardware and software, configuration of IP equipment, and IP network configuration and management. Familiarity with working in a laboratory environment and knowledge of SATCOM is also required.

Experience: It is a requirement to have at least 9 years experience solving engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned. Eight or more years experience with SATCOM systems, testing, and software requirements is needed. Four years experience with U.S. Military SATCOM systems is also required including some hands-on experience installing/documenting Windows/SQL servers applications. Hands-on experience with IP networks over satellite communications via TDMA modems is also required.

Clearance: US Government SECRET security clearance is REQUIRED.

Education: A Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution in Electrical, Compute, or Electronics Engineering. Four years of applicable experience may be substituted for a BS degree. An advanced degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is desirable. Security Clearance Required.
