Description: Laboratory Automation Specialist
This position focuses on the support of scientific software systems and technology for all laboratories including GxP and non-GxP. Incumbent will be a part of a unique IS group that collaborates with scientists to improve and maintain overall workflow and scientific data security. The ideal candidate must be able to provide day-to-day IS support for scientific user community, work with scientists and other technology professionals to evaluate, develop and maintain systems that improve processes and improve productivity. This individual will also serve as the Systems Administrator for managing system restoration, data migration and upgrades and training for deployed scientific systems. You will also help to analyze data workflow and help to develop systems to improve or automate scientific data acquisition and reports. Qualifications include: a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a physical science (Chemistry, BioChemistry, Biology, etc) or equivalent experience; 3-5 years’ experience with scientific software and familiarity with laboratory instrument interfaces; good technical troubleshooting skills; pharmaceutical industry background is preferred; familiarity with LIMS, Chromatography Data Systems, NuGenesis SDMS and/or Document Management systems is ideal as is experience with GxPs, 21 CFR Part 11, and computer system validation; VB scripting experience is desired; Toad and Macromedia are the preferred development tools and XML, JSP, ColdFusion, .net, Java and SQL background; detail-oriented professional; familiarity with lab instruments; troubleshooting experience with Chromatography Data Systems; and good Project Management skills are a definite plus.
