Description: Clinical Database Programmer
The Clinical Database Programmer II provides advanced solutions to meet the technical needs of the Clinical Data Management department. The Clinical Database Programmer II is responsible for formulating, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures and standards relating to database management in a regulated environment. The Clinical Database Programmer II oversees department interaction with the Information Systems department in the areas of system planning, testing, implementation, configuration and upgrade and also provides technical support and consultation on very complex, high priority, projects for the Clinical development user community. Responsibilities include: develops SOPs, Work Instructions, and other procedures; ensures compliance and quality across multiple studies; proactively identifies important project needs and designs and executes system specifications accordingly; leads a team of Database programmers to provide troubleshooting for efficient database system operation; researches new technologies and makes decisions in conjunction with senior management with regards to the new systems implementations and upgrades; works with IS to plan, test, and deploy new database systems and system upgrades; and may oversee vendor activities; May supervise other staff. Qualifications include: a Bachelor's Degree; must have experience working with InForm and EDC; recognized as an expert within the organization regarding all the technical aspects of Clinical Data Management tools and programming; communicates effectively in verbal presentations and in writing strategy plans; and demonstrates ability to effectively advise regarding the planning, testing and deploying of new database systems and system upgrades.
