New Delhi, February 26: The BJP will take on the UPA Government on
issues such as inflation, terrorism and Ram Sethu during the Budget
session of Parliament. The party has asked its MPs to be present in
full strength when these issues are taken up for discussion.
“The BJP parliamentary party met on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of
L K Advani who said there’s a pro-NDA wave in the country,” party
spokesperson V K Malhotra said. He added that President Pratibha Patil
in her speech in Parliament did not mention issues such as inflation,
terrorism, farmers’ suicides, package for Kashmiri Pandits and Ram
Sethu.
The BJP meeting also criticised Congress-led UPA Government for
“putting pressure on the Election Commission to delay polls in
Karnataka.” “Elections can easily be held by May 28. There should be
no extension of President’s rule in the state,” Malhotra said.
Responding guardedly to a declaration by Islamic clerics that Islam
does not allow terrorism, the BJP spokesperson said it would be a
welcome move if put to practice. “However, globally Islamic terrorism
has increased.
