SUMMARY:
Senior level position, responsible for conducting and documenting
complex financial analysis projects. Job may provide functional
advice or training to less experienced financial analyst jobs, or may
supervise day-to-day unit activities for a function supporting the
entire organization. Activities impact the most complex premium,
loss, expense and/or systems/operational projects dealing with reports
and data management.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce accurate and timely monthly/weekly/daily financial reports,
variance analyses, ad hoc reports and modeling to meet area reporting
requirements.

Provide financial and/or accounting expertise and act as project
leader for teams addressing broad financial and/or accounting/expense
issues.
Analyze and interpret trends and variances in business performance
and expenses.
Handle large, complex projects and resolve difficult issues.
Act as technical resource to less experienced members of unit.
Recommend solutions for process inefficiencies.


WORK EXPERIENCE:
Significant financial analysis/accounting experience.
In-depth knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
Understanding of insurance business and products.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet and database software and
financial modeling tools.
Proficient in using company systems/processes.

reporting needs.
Preparation of Powerpoint presentations.
Analysis of results and completion of research to explain variances.
Provide technical financial analysis and reporting support.
Recommend opportunities to enhance processes.
Act as liaison/interface with other departments to resolve problems.
Provide assistance to less experienced staff.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge or training in financial analysis and/or accounting.
Demonstrated solid financial analysis and reporting skills.
Skilled in spreadsheet and data base software tools.
Sound analytical and technical skills.
Experience with investments preferred.

CERTIFICATES/DEGREES:
