Desired experience:

6+ years of relevant work experience in a large scaleenvironment
(Preferably Hosting/Service provider space)

3-6+ years experience design & implementation of IT solutions
Previous experience designing hosting solutions, including technical
documentation, testing, validation, and problem resolution
Ability to create vendor technical evaluation criteria and test plans
for hosting technologies

Desired technology expertise with multiple of the following (not all
necessarily):

Windows 200x Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and
Solaris operating systems
OS/App Deployment Systems: KickStart, JumpStart,
BladeLogic, Opsware, Alteris, other
OS layer security & hardening
OS Clustering & Multi-pathing technologies
Monitoring Systems: Microsoft Operations Manager, SNMP trap creation,
MIBs
Automation Scripting: Perl, Shell scripting, VB,
Batch, WMI, Etc.
In-depth knowledge of Server virtualization technologies, such as
VMWare, Xen, MS Virtual server, etc.
Familiarity with blade server architectures and products. (Egenera, HP
C-Class, Etc…)

Server monitoring and performance measurement,
including SNMP and related protocols
Server Load-balancing technologies, such as F5, Inkra,
Cisco and others
DR design
SAN technologies, such as fiber channel switching and large-scale
storage arrays
Multi platform Central Authentication, Single Sign-on,
Integration of Auth technologies (LDAP, NIS, RADIUS,
Secure ID)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

Bachelors degree in information systems or computer science preferred
Professional Certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Systems
Engineer (MCSE), Red Hat Certified
