Database Administrator

As a member of the Business Intelligence Infrastructure Operations
team, the Database Administrator will be responsible for the
implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of
critical Oracle database systems, to ensure the availability and
consistent performance of our BI products. The DBA will support
production operations as well as product development. This is a "hands-
on" position requiring solid technical skills, along with
troubleshooting and communications skills.

Specific Responsibilities: Support Oracle databases through multiple
product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical
production systems, for applications with data warehouse and OLTP
components Configure and maintain data servers and processes,
including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high
levels of performance, availability, and security Independently
analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem
resolution end-to-end Provide 24x7 support for critical production
systems on an on-call rotation basis Perform scheduled maintenance and
support release deployment activities after hours Automate and refine
regular processes, track issues, and document changes Apply data
modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support
efforts meet integration and performance expectations Participate in
the software deployment process, assisting in development where
required Assist in development of project plans and task lists Share
domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and
cross-training to peers

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 4 years+ professional work
experience as a Database Administrator with Oracle Experience
implementing, configuring, and performance tuning multiple Oracle 10g
and 11g instances per machine Experience with Oracle's RMAN, RAC, and
ASM features, as well as client/server and web-based development
models Experience in performance tuning, using tools for stress
testing, and building scalable systems
