WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? Provide technical and consultative support to operations, metrics and expense contacts throughout HLI Global Ops and Technology in the areas of annual operational planning and reforecast, ongoing metric and expense driver research and analytics, salary planning, monthly reporting and special projects. Work directly with counterparts in Operations and Finance to ensure seamless delivery of management services to business customers. * Provide complete and accurate reporting to middle and senior management for operational controls. * Create / evaluate / maintain timely metric and budget reporting tools, modifying and / or developing new tools and systems as the need arises. * Monitor operational gaps and improve visibility through flexible reporting to help management make sound business decisions to achieve business plan objectives. * Work to identify drivers and metrics to develop accurate staffing requirements / systems. * Bridge business activity analytics to expense controls and planning to drive operating outcomes * Drive completion of annual expense process providing management reports and communication throughout (Internal and External). * Work as primary point of contact for HLI Global Ops and Technology operations and expense contacts. * Work as liaison between Operations, Finance and HLI Global Ops and Technology expense community on all metric, budgeting and expense management issues. * Assist managers in the development and monitoring of metrics, budgets, outlooks and expense initiatives. * Assist managers in creating accurate and meaningful LOB allocation methodologies. * Participate in the development and implementation of new processes / process enhancements across HLI Global Ops and Technology. * Provide information and assistance during any internal audits, SLT or Finance department inquiries. Qualifications WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Qualified candidates will have the following requirements: * Strong Customer focus. * Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar discipline * Insurance industry experience preferred * Minimum of 7 years experience in metric, financial reporting / project management * Experience with Hyperion * Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment and auditing preferred * Strong creative problem solving and analytical skills * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others. * Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks * Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills * Willing to take on additional responsibilities as the position may require - Ability to adapt to change a must! * Able to learn quickly and handle situations of various complexity and ambiguity * Ability to comprehend financial models, analyze data, summarize findings, and explain complex issues to upper management * Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet tight deadlines * Fosters teamwork and is a team player * Champion for change. * Operating metrics, expense management and reporting * Understanding of business issues facing HLI Global Ops and Technology and Hartford Life * Exceptional Excel, PowerPoint skills required Our Core Values: Integrity - Financial Discipline - Diversity & Inclusion - Customer Focus - Winning Spirit - Teamwork
