ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for increasing the sales of Targus products in their
defined territory through a target Fortune 1000 sales focus. The
RSM is responsible for maintaining relationships with the
Alliance Partner Reps. in their territory (i.e. HP, IBM, Toshiba
and Dell) and the strategic VAR Reps., including joint sales
calls to the Fortune end users. In addition, any Partner or
Reseller Road show or Territory Meetings within the RSM territory
should be supported by the RSM. RSMs will have responsibility to
support our channel team with periodic lunch & learn and various
reseller activities. As a guideline, RSMs should allocate their
time as follows:
· Corporate 60%
· Alliance 20%
· Reseller 20%
DIRECTION RECEIVED:
Director and/or Management level will give general direction in
the form of MBOs.
Exercises judgment and discretion within predefined procedures.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP SKILLS:
Leadership role in various projects as required.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCE:
Requires a moderate skill level of technical competence,
particularly in relation to accessory technologies where the RSM
will serve as the interface with our corporate end users and
Alliance Program partners.
A working knowledge of CRM software (ACT etc.), MS Outlook, MS
Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES and/or ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift 40 lbs. required to transport product samples and
set-up tradeshows and displays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Requires a minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in
field sales with portable computers or computer peripherals. A
proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding
individual quotas is necessary. Excellent presentation and
interpersonal skills; experienced at creating and delivering
professional presentations and building long-term relationships
with large organizations
Bachelors’s Degree or commiserate experience.
