THERAPIST ASSISTANT "COTA" 1 participates in the
implementation of the home rehabilitative plan of care designed
by an Occupational Therapist and physician to patients whose
meaningful and purposeful occupations have been disrupted by
injury, disease or other cause; 2 recording clinical and
progress notes; and 3 coordinating other patient care
activities services to provide the highest quality of patient
care in the geographic service area to which he she is assigned.
He she works under the clinical supervision of the Occupational
Therapist.1. Graduate from an ACOTE-accredited associate degree
or certificate program in OT.2. Registered by the American
Occupational Therapy Association and licensed in the state in
which he she is required to practice, if the state has registry
practices, or passed the national entry-level certification
examination administered by the N.B.C.O.T.3. A minimum of one
year of acute, rehab, or long-term care experience; previous home
care experience preferred.4. Ability to relate to and treat
acutely ill chronically ill patients families and their
particular problems.5. Must Possess strong patient assessment,
patient management and documentation skills.6. Ability to
function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed,
color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the patient.7.
Must possess the disposition and personality to work harmoniously
with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff, and
interact professionally as a member of a multi-disciplinary
team.8. Must possess a strong commitment to the goals, mission,
and philosophy of the organization.9. Ability to work flexible
hours as required to meet identified patient needs.10. Absolute
integrity and the use of good judgment to handle the professional
and confidential nature of assignments..11. Ability to adapt to
changing organizational needs.12. Speaks, writes, reads, and
comprehends English. <br>
