Business Application Architect

Client is a leading provider of financial services to public sector
clients worldwide.

Due to enourmous success they are now seeking experienced
candidates to join their current team

The Role:

The banking application architects works closely with the
lead banking application architect and the Head of Development
to ensure that all applications across all system platforms work
with each other in consistent, coherent and stable manner

Primary Responsibilities:

Work closely with the lead business application architect, business
and systems analysts, systems developers, etc to ensure the business
application infrastructure meets business requirements
Ensure all solutions are fully integrated and optimised to address
business needs and objectives
Validate & improve the business application configuration and
infrastructure e.g. interfaces
Produce detailed designs and banking application solution proposals
Ensure all development is consistent with the overall application
architecture and the banks architecture principals
Review and approve IT processes for building & delivering applications
to the IT Operations team
Review and approves all key banking systems configuration changes and
enhancements
Providing operational impact analysis on proposed changes or introduction
of systems & technologies
Maintain, review validity of and ensure that systems and quality standards
are adhered to
Organise and/or assist in the implementation of any new application
software and training of staff in the use of the new systems and
procedures


Requirements:



Ideally a degree in computing or a related degree
Ability to see the "big picture" with respectto business applications
Extensive knowledge of banking instruments and banking applications,
ideally Summit, unlikely to have less than three years experience on
large banking applications
Good banking instrument and business analysis skills to facilitate
communication with business analysis
Strong management, leadership and communication skills (at all levels)
Presentation skills, ability to simplify the communication of complex
issues, translating complex business requirements into clear well defined
application solution
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as
part of a team
Good knowledge of Sybase, Unix, Windows, shell scripting etc
Capacity to gain a thorough knowledge of the relevant speciality area
Willing to continuously update personal IT/business skills and knowledge
